Scalable Processor Performance The CC10 is an Ultra-Rugged COM Express module built around the NXP (formerly Freescale) ARM i.MX 6 series of processors with a Cortex-A9 architecture. Supporting different types of the i.MX 6Solo, 6DualLite, 6Dual and 6Quad families, the computer-on-module is widely scalable, e.g., to processing or graphics requirements. Where less performance is needed, you can optimize costs by choosing a single- or dual-core processor instead of a quad core.
Perfect for Harsh Environments For applications that need reliable operation even under the harshest environmental conditions, a specially hardened version is available - the CC10C. CC10C modules are embedded in a closed aluminum frame that ensures optimum EMC protection and efficient conduction cooling and supports an extended operating temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C. Direct air cooling is possible by placing a heat sink on the cover. The innovative mechanical design around the COM.0 electronics makes it an ultra-rugged module. With the mechanics for conduction cooling, the module's size extends to 105 x 105 mm. The CC10 is based on the "Compact", 95 x 95 mm form factor and Type 6 connector pin-out. The exclusive use of soldered components ensures that the COM withstands shock and vibration. The design is optimized for conformal coating. Adding to its rugged design, the computer-on-module's range of supported functions leave almost nothing to wish for. With a maximum of 4 GB DDR3 RAM and an onboard eMMC device, the CC10 covers all basic memory needs. 3-Gbit SATA is provided for external mass storage.
I/O Flexibility One of the biggest strengths of the CC10 lies in its I/O flexibility. The i.MX 6 provides an abundance of onchip controllers and interfaces, including Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0 (also with OTG/client support) and PCI Express. Different video outputs like LVDS and HDMI/DVI, audio and an optional camera interface make the card fit for multimedia applications. Other serial ports provide UARTs or CAN bus. Where the processor's standard functions are not a perfect match, an onboard FPGA opens up 140 signal pins for user I/O. As IP cores are easy to integrate, the CC10 becomes a semi-custom solution with the suitable functionality even for more specialized applications. The resulting I/O functionality in the ordered version depends on the customer's requirements and will always be a tailored combination of i.MX 6 and FPGA-based I/O, without the need for a completely new design. For evaluation and development purposes a microATX carrier board, the XC15, is available.

The CC10S is a small-footprint multi-display controller board based on the NXP (formerly Freescale) ARM i.MX 6 Series and provides full HD resolution for 7" to 15" panels, e.g., for driver desk displays or in-seat infotainment in trains or public buses, in aircraft, in medical devices, or HMIs in automotive applications.
Scalable Performance with ARM i.MX 6 Series With its Cortex-A9 architecture, the CC10S supports different types of the i.MX 6Solo, 6DualLite, 6Dual and 6Quad families. This makes the controller module widely scalable from low-end to high-end graphics requirements. Where less performance is needed, you can optimize costs by choosing a single- or dual-core processor instead of a quad core. In any case, the board provides dual-channel LVDS with a maximum resolution of 1920 by 1200 pixels (WUXGA).
Powerful Graphics with a Small Footprint The CC10S supports up to 4 GB onboard DDR3 SDRAM, which is abundant even for demanding imaging tasks. A soldered eMMC device provides sufficient mass storage for Linux or VxWorks operating systems and application software, and in many cases also for image data.
This makes the CC10S controller a solid base for very compact solutions. Still it can handle two independent screen contents due to its multi-stream-capable HD video engine, which delivers up to 1080p60 decode, 1080p30 encode and 3D video playback in HD. Separate 2D and/or OpenVG Vertex acceleration engines make for optimal user interface experience.
Solid I/O Functions With one Gigabit Ethernet interface (1000BASE-T) and two USB 2.0 ports, the CC10S covers the needs of a typical panel computer. All interfaces are accessible using onboard connectors that can be led to a housing's exterior as needed using ribbon cable.
A USB-to-UART port allows to connect a PC as a terminal, e.g., for integration or software maintenance.
Rugged for Harsh Environments Although the display controller is suited for all kinds of application areas, it is particularly suited for harsh environments. All components are available qualified for an extended temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C, are soldered to withstand shock and vibration, and are prepared for conformal coating.

The robust design of the F23P - all components including the DDR3 DRAM are soldered - makes the board especially suited for use in rugged environments with regard to shock and vibration according to applicable DIN, EN or IEC industry standards. The F23P is also ready for coating for use in humid and dusty environments. Using a special frame, the F23P can quickly be adapted to conduction-cooled systems.
CompactPCI PlusIO (PICMG 2.30) The F23P supports the CompactPCI PlusIO (PICMG 2.30) specification, meaning it can be used in a hybrid system for control of both CompactPCI and CompactPCI Serial peripheral boards. Compliant to the standard, 4 USB 2.0, 4 PCI Express x1, 4 SATA 6 Gb/s interfaces as well as one Gigabit Ethernet are accessible on the J2 rear I/O connector.
Versatile Front I/O The standard I/O available at the front panel of F23P includes VGA, two Gigabit Ethernet and two USB 2.0 ports. The F23P can be extended by different side cards. Additional functions include a variety of different UARTs or another four USBs, SATA for hard disk connection and HD audio.
