Self-generation of medical oxygen according to the standards of the European Pharmacopoeia & Directive 93/42/EEC with oxygen generators by INMATEC.

With the POC MED oxygen generating series INMATEC has developed special gas generators for the in-house oxygen production for the stationary medicine as well as the mobile medicine. On-board oxygen generators supply mobile emergency vehicles and air fleets worldwide. Thus, the source for primary care is guaranteed at all times!

The plug & play air separation plants deliver medical oxygen with a purity of up to 95%. The self-generated medical oxygen is available at any time and in any quantity with no risk of explosion and up to 60% of cost savings from the very first minute of operating.

The oxygen generators with innovative and energy-saving POC technology have been designed and developed in compliance with the strict quality management specifications of ISO 13485:2016 and ISO 7396-1:2016. They are certified in accordance with the Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC and the gas quality of the oxygen produced complies with the standards of the European Pharmacopoeia for medical applications.

The IMT POC Med oxygen generators can be fully integrated and are equipped with state-of-the-art measurement and sensor technology. The touch control panel lets you comfortably read the logged data for all relevant operating values. SECURING THE OXYGEN SUPPLY FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IN REMOTE LOCATIONS
Configured in a 10 or 20-foot mobile steel container, the oxygen self-generating ensemble can be deployed anywhere and produces the amount of medical oxygen required by the customer for any medical facilities. The mobile air separation plants by INMATEC include at least one oxygen production line, depending on requirements, consisting of an air compressor with filtration, an oxygen generator, and a booster with cylinder rack for oxygen cylinder filling.

The mobile oxygen generators of the POC Med series offer all of the advantages of a fully equipped medical oxygen systems for hospital, clinical use and surgeries. Our POC Med generators therefore meet the standards of the quality management systems ISO 13485:2016 for the quality management system for medical device manufacturers and 7396-1:2016 for pipeline systems for medical gases. With an oxygen purity of 93%-95% they also meet the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia for medical applications. OXYGEN GENERATORS FOR HOSPITALS

HOSPITAL GRAN CANARIA
Oxygen is used in many areas of medical care in hospitals. The availability of oxygen often makes the difference between life and death which is why securing its supply is a top priority. The ICOT Group, which operates hospitals in several locations across the Canary Islands, uses an INMATEC oxygen generator in its newly built hospital in Telde, Gran Canaria. Experience of oxygen cylinder supply shortages on the island in the Atlantic has contributed to the Group’s decision. Moreover, the company reduces costs considerably and the impact on the environment thanks to onsite production.

By constructing the new hospital in Telde, the ICOT Group was seeking to provide optimal medical care for patients with neurological diseases. Brain and nerve specialists work in interdisciplinary teams, consisting of doctors, therapists and nurses, to develop personalised therapies for patients who suffer from a stroke, traumatic brain injuries or spinal cord injuries, for example. The modern hospital features state-of-the-art medical equipment for outpatient and inpatient treatment and is also a teaching and research centre which, in its own words, is always striving for excellence. Oxygen plays a key role in the treatment of patients in neurology. To date, the ICOT Group has secured the oxygen supply by delivering cylinders and bundles. Due to the special location of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, the oxygen had to be delivered from the most outlying parts of mainland Europe. In order to provide suf cient oxygen at all times and to avoid any undersupply, the oxygen had to be ordered and stored in large quantities. This was a major challenge for purchasing and facility management. In addition, delivery over such a long distance involved high costs and transport-related Co2 emissions.

The ICOT Group was therefore looking for a solution for an uninterrupted yet affordable oxygen supply. In the end, INMATEC, a leading manufacturer of oxygen generators from Germany, was found. With regard to the selection, it was important that the manufacturer ful lled the high quality requirements vis-à-vis the manufacture of medical products. The INMATEC oxygen generators comply, inter alia, with the standards of the European Pharmacopeia for medical applications and are SQS certied. The hospital in Telde now uses an IMT PO 2150 OnTouch oxygen generator with pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology to generate the requisite medical oxygen directly onsite. Compressed air ows through two adsorption vessels ( lled with zeolites) in the generator. Nitrogen and carbon dioxide molecules from the ambient air are caught in the sieve, while the free oxygen molecules ow into the product tank. 5 m3 dry oxygen with a purity of 93% is produced every hour and can be used in a wide variety of applications in hospitals. Oxygen is used in operating theatres for anaesthesia and ventilation. The generator can also be used to ll cylinders. Such cylinders are used for ventilating patients both in the rooms and in the hospital‘s mobile emergency vehicles. This also ensures that accident victims receive initial care at all times.

INMATEC GAS GENERATING TECHNOLOGY
 
Purified compressed air flows through the innovative adsorption process: the nitrogen molecules are adsorbed and medical oxygen passes through and directly flows into the product tank. The pure oxygen can immediately be used in any application.
 
The POC Med range uses the new POC technology developed by INMATEC. This increases the efficiency of the PSA technology used to separate the oxygen molecules from the nitrogen molecules thanks to innovative flow technology combined with advanced vortex technology. This means less compressed air is required. Energy costs can be significantly reduced by extracting more oxygen with lower compressed air requirements.
 
THE INDUSTRY STANDARD 4.0: A REAL INNOVATION FOR YOUR SECURITY: All measured values are logged and displayed on the INMATEC touch control panel and are also available for further processing via the remote control operation.
